Admissions - PhD Programmes
PhD candidates must possess an Italian diploma di laurea, laurea specialistica or laurea magistrale or an equivalent second-level degree (generally equivalent to a Masters Degree) obtained abroad (or expect to obtain one by October 31, 2016).
The equivalence of each academic title will be evaluated by the academic board of each degree programme as per inter-university cooperation and mobility agreements.
Please note: students who are already enrolled without a fellowship cannot be admitted to the entrance examinations for the same PhD course, unless they formally resign their doctoral post with the academic board.
Applications are invited from candidates, regardless of gender, age and nationality, who hold an Italian “diploma di laurea/laurea specialistica/laurea magistrale” or an equivalent second-level degree obtained abroad (generally equivalent to a Masters) or expect to receive their degree by October 31, 2016.
Each PhD programme adopts different admission procedures. Usually, however, the procedure includes both a written and an oral examination. Nonetheless, there are exceptions and you are advised to check the Italian version of the call (see link on right) for the exact procedure to follow for the PhD programme that interests you. You will often be redirected to the website of the PhD programme where you can find instructions in English.
The duration of all PhD programmes is three years. Courses may be taught in Italian.
Deadline: August 1, 2016
