Tuition & Scholarships

Starting from 2016-17 Academic Year, tuition fees at Sapienza University will be reduced for a wide range of students, including students whose families earn less than €30,000/year. Moreover, Sapienza has introduced new grants for top students, introduced new discounts for families with more than one sibling enrolled at Sapienza and lowered fees for foreign students.

Tuition Fee Reduction for Non-resident Foreigners
Foreign students who work in Italy (or have other income) can take advantage of tuition fee reductionss, based on certified family income (ISEE form). Students who are not able to present an ISEE form will be provided with a €1000 flat rate tuition fee, a 200 euro reduction over last year’s fees. Moreover, students from developing countries will have the right to 600 and 500-euro flat rate tuition fees. Students should not present a zero-euro ISEE as this might block the renewal of their residence permits.

Tuition Fees – Three Instalments
Meeting a specific student request, starting next year, all students will be able to pay their tuition fees in three instalments (October, December, March). This measure will make it easier to meet the ISEE form deadlines that must be presented together with the second payment in December.

Grants for Top Students
Students who excel in their programmes will receive a grant that they can use to pay their tuition fees. These grants will be presented to the top 5% of Sapienza students, nearly 3000 students. Students will be evaluated based on exam grades, number of exams taken and attendance, independently from which faculty they attend. Students will be able to check their placement in real-time via the on-line university student system.
