Technological District for Cultural Heritage

On February 23, 2018, Massimiliano Smeriglio, the Deputy President of the Lazio Region, officially communicated the approval of the general activities plan for the Lazio DTC – Technological District for Cultural Heritage.

The Lazio DTC – Technological District for Cultural Heritage was founded by Sapienza University, as the lead partner, with various universities in Rome (Tor Vergata, Roma Tre, Tuscia, Cassino and Lazio Meridionale) and the CNR, ENEA and INFN Resarch Centres.

The Lazio Region has allotted €6 million in funds over a three-year period to activate the centre and implement training, research and technology transfer projects, as well as create a repository and register of regional competences and resources.

“This important success,” points out Mariasabrina Sarto, Sapienza Deputy Rector for Research Tools and Infrastructure and Project Coordinator, “is the result of long-term coordination and planning.”

This measure, which is part of €41.7 million allotted by the Lazio Region and the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research, kicks off the activities of the DTC, which will be able to count on the support of the entire public research system, in partnership with the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and the entrepreneurial world.
