The 16th edition of the Summer Course on Space Law and Policy organised by the European Centre for Space Law (ECSL) in collaboration with the Sapienza Department of Political Science will be inaugurated on September 4. Sapienza Rector Eugenio Gaudio and Sergio Marchisio, Professor of International Law and Presdient of ECSL will be present.

The first day of the summer course will feature a round table entitled “From Scientific Research to Space Applications: Sapienza Activities and Projects” with Professors Marcello Onofri, Guido De Matteis, Paolo Gaudenzi, Fabio Santoni, and Augusto Nascetti.

The full immersion course, which will be held from September 4-15, features lessons, seminars and the development of a project for 48 students from 29 universities in 25 countries. The lessons will be held by leading experts from various countries. The objective of the course is to provide students with greater insight in the juridical aspects of space activities. During the course, students will meet with experts and visit the top national institutions and industries operating in the space sector.

The Space Law and Policy Course, which is promoted by the Italian Space Agency (ASI), Thales Alenia Space and Telespazio, provides an important opportunity for international debate with other European universities, in line with Sapienza’s drive to internationalise its educational and research activities.
