On Tuesday, April 17, Sapienza University will host a conference dedicated to the “Integration of Refugees in Europe: The Role of Universities” in collaboration with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees.

The conference has been organised as part of Erasmus+ Project "InHere - Higher Education Supporting Refugees in Europe," coordinated by UNIMED in partnership with Sapienza, the University of Barcelona, EUA and Campus France, to discuss and promote the opportunities provided by European universities to facilitate the integration and access of refugees to higher education.

The conference works will be introduced by Sapienza Rector Eugenio Gaudio. Speakers include: Felipe Camargo, UNHCR Representative for Southern Europe; Costanza Hermanin, Political Counsellor the Minister of Justice and member of the Alliance of Leading Universities on Migration (ALUM); and Kostas Moschochoritis, Secretary General, Intersos. Moreover, experts, scholars and administrators of European universities active in the promotion of refugee and migrant rights will present their university’s experiences.

The documentary film “When You Can’t Go Back” by Director Leonardo Cinieri Lombroso will be screened during the conference.

Participation is free, but registration is required.
