Interaction between Matter and X-Rays

Monday, April 9, 2018 – 4:00 pm
“Conversi” Lecture Hall, Physics Building
Piazzale Aldo Moro 5, Rome

On Monday, April 9, Francesco Sette, the Director General of the European Synchroton Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble, will hold a lesson on the “Interaction between Matter and X-Rays.”

The third lesson on this aspect of physics will focus on the various types of pairing that takes place between electromagnetic radiation and electron charge, spin and impulse, which has led to laboratory observations of scattering and absorption processes. This has many possible applications on the study of the properties of matter.

The lesson is part of the cycle of lectures promoted by the “Enrico Fermi” Chair for Academic Year 2017-18.
