The European Research Council Programme supports researchers of any age and nationality who wish to carry out research of excellence in EU Member States or associated countries. In 2017, the ERC will celebrate its 10th anniversary with an "ERC Week" and numerous events in Brussels and across Europe from March 13-19.
Sapienza will organise a "Sapienza ERC Week" with a series of initiatives addressing both the scientific community and the general public.
The opening event, dedicated to "Celebrating Excellence in Research: 10 Years of ERC at Sapienza," will be held on Monday, March 13 (9:30 am) at the Department Oral and Maxillo-Facial Sciences and will be dedicated to the presentation of the ERC programme with a focus on funding opportunities, achievements and experiences of Sapienza grantees .
On March 13-14, three workshops will address “How to submit a successful ERC project,” each dedicated to one of the three ERC Panels and will explore future calls by potential applicants.
On March 15-16, Sapienza will host the "ERC Open Labs." Starting at 3 pm, on March 15, the Department of Physics, with the help of 11 ERC Grantees, will host a lecture and a tour to allow the public to visit the ERC Principal Investigators' labs and to understand their research activities through demonstrations, installations, live experiments, etc., while at 12:00 (noon) on March 16, the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering will host a lecture on "BIC - Cavitation Bubbles from Inception to Collapse.''
