Environmental "Lights Out" Initiative on Campus

Sapienza University will participate in the “Lights Out” initiative to promote energetic sustainability promoted by Rai Radio 2 Programme Caterpillar through the M’Illumino di meno initiative.

On Friday, February 23, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, Sapienza personnel and students are invited to switch off all lights and only use electricity for essential activities. The campus lighting will be turned off and the entrance to the university will be dimmed.

Sapienza’s recent infrastructural work on lighting mean that the university has saved nearly 10,000 watts in power.  Moreover, this initiative will reduce the consumption of electricity be an estimated 500 kWh and reduce CO2 production by 300 kg.
