On Wednesday, June 21, CERN Director General Fabiola Gianotti will hold a seminar on "Physical Research (and much more) at Cern".

The seminar will address activities at CERN, one of the most important laboratories in the world for fundamental physics research, and the LHC-Large Hadron Collider Scientific Programme, an experiment that theoretical physicists hope will unveil a new elementary particle.

Fabiola Gianotti was awarded the Tommasoni Prize 2017 from the Sapienza Foundation on June 19 "for the innumerable contributions made to particle physics, which led her to play a leading role in the Higgs Boson for the Atlas Experiment and the orientation of current and future research as CERN's Director General.

The Tomassoni Prize is an international prize managed by the Sapienza Foundation, and is awarded to scholars who have distinguished themselves in scientific research in the field of Physics; the committee examining international applications includes several professors from our Physics Department, including Giorgio Parisi, who presides it.
