Sapienza Solar Decathlon Team in Dubai

The Sapienza Solar Decathlon Team was in Dubai, from April 30 to May 1, for the first workshop of the Solar Decathlon Middle East 2018.

The Solar Decathlon is an international competition in which student teams engage in designing and building full-size, solar-powered houses. Sapienza is participating with Team ReStart4Smart with students from the Faculties of Architecture, Civil and Industrial Engineering, Political Sciences, Sociology and Communication.

Guests at the opening ceremony included Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of the Dewa-Dubai Electricity and Water Authority; Paul Malik, General Consul of the United States at Dubai, and Valentina Setta, General Consul of Italy in Dubai.

The project presented by Team ReStart4Smart proved of great interest to all participants.

On day two, the plots of land where the ecological houses will be built were assigned. Sapienza will have Plot K, with an optimal position in the Solar Hai that will host the 22 houses in October 2018 for the final part of the competition.
