Sapienza in Pink

The first edition of “Sapienza in Pink, an entire day dedicated to all of Sapienza’s female students and all the women at Sapienza, will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 as part of the United Nations “International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women,” which is celebrated every year on November 25.

The “Sapienza in Pink” Initiative, which is promoted by the “Sapienza In Movimento” Student Association in partnership with Sapienza University of Rome, the State Police and the Sanit Forum Salute, was conceived by Antonio Lodise, a student representative on the Sapienza Board of Administrators.

The following partners will provide free services on Tuesday:

  • Department of Dynamic and Clinical Psychology: psychological and sexual counselling
  • Artemisia Onlus: Pap Tests and HPV Infodesk
  • Anlaids Onlus (Lazio): Infodesk on sexually transmitted diseases
  • Umberto I General Hospital, Department for Cardiovascular and Respiratory Disease: ECGs, blood pressure and heart exams;
  • LILT – Italian Association against Tumours
  • Missione Tucano: contraception advice
  • Salvamamme: safety measures for women who have suffered violence
  • Italian Police “Camper Rosa” – Project “This Is Not Love”

At noon, Italian Police Deputy Chief Nunzia Alessandra Schilirò, Michele Baldi from the Regione Lazio and other speakers will hold presentations, followed by artists Violetta Carpino e Gaspard, while, on the evening of November 21, the Minerva Fountain will be illuminated in pink lights to celebrate the event.
