Sapienza and Regione Lazio Sign Museum Agreement


On Thursday, March 16, Sapienza Rector Eugenio Gaudio and Director Edith Gabrielli signed an agreement between Sapienza University and the Lazio Museum System at the National Museum of Palazzo Venezia.

The meeting was attended by Ugo Soragni, Director General of Lazio Museums; Gabriele Scarascia Mugnozza, Deputy Rector for Cultural Relations; Marina Righetti, President of the Sapienza Museum Network; Giorgio Manzi, Director of Sapienza Museums and Federica Dal Falco, Professor of Planning, Design and Technologies at the Department of Architecture.

The Lazio Museum Center, which was founded in 2014, brings together 43 museums, archaeological sites and cultural venues scattered throughout Lazio; in Rome, it includes the Pantheon, Castel Sant'Angelo National Museum, the National Museum of Palazzo Venezia, the Vittorio Emanuele II Monument and the Castello di Giulio II in Ostia; in Lazio, it includes the Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola, Villa Lante, the Abbeys of Subiaco, Casamari, Montecassino and Fossanova, and the museums of Civitavecchia, Tarquinia, Cerveteri, Sperlonga.

The Sapienza Museum Network is an integrated network of university museums representing various fields of knowledge, from Archaeology to Physics, from History of Medicine to Earth Science, and from Chemistry to Anthropology.
