New DIGITAL student CARD

The new digital student card will allow Sapienza students to benefit from all the services provided by the University, including lending books from the libraries and accessing the 24H reading rooms. The card can also be used to obtain student discounts at museums, cinemas, theatres and select shops.

The new card, which includes student data and a photo, will be released through Infostud and mailed directly to the student’s address. It also provides a new way of safely certifying enrolment at Sapienza.

The digital student card will be presented during the opening ceremony of the “A. Ghizzetti” Reading Room at the Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering on May 24, with Sapienza Rector Eugenio Gaudio and Director General Carlo Musto D’Amore.

The “A. Ghizzetti” Reading Room will provide 70 new studying stations, in addition to the 142 places available in the other two 24H study rooms at Sapienza. Indeed, Sapienza is the first university in Rome and amongst the first in Italy to provide students with 24H study rooms to its students.

The new study room is equipped with access ramps and devices for disabled students and CCTV safety cameras connected to the university security and surveillance system. Wi-Fi is available throughout the room and power outlets are present for charging laptops or other devices. Access control, library loans and security tag RFID systems will be shortly activated along with the new SBS (Sapienza Library System) services.
