Aula Magna, Rectorate Building
Piazzale Aldo Moro 5, Rome

On Saturday, February 10, Sapienza University and the University Concerti Institution (IUC) will host a performance of “Quatuor pour la fin du Temps," one of the most representative works of 20th century music composed by Olivier Messiaen.

The French composer and organist wrote and performed the opera during his imprisonment in the Görlitz concentration camp in Poland. The title, which evokes the end of time, refers to the Apocalypse.

In the first part of the concert, the four instrumentalists - Pietro De Maria, Marco Rizzi, Enrico Dindo and Alessandro Carbonare - will pay tribute to Debussy on the centenary of his death, performing three pieces written respectively for clarinet, cello and violin with the piano accompaniment.
