Fulbright Awards for American Students

05-06-2017

The Fulbright U.S. Student Programme presents two new awads to celebrate the 70th anniversary of its foundation that may be of interest to United States nationals who wish to study at Sapienza University of Rome: the “Fulbright Anniversary in Europe Award - Migration Studies” for U.S. students and the “Fulbright-Schuman 70th Anniversary Migration Research Award” for U.S. researchers and lecturers.

The two grants have been created jointly by Belgium, France, Greece, United Kingdom and Italy, to celebrate the seventieth anniversary of the Fulbright Commission in 2018.

The “Fulbright Anniversary in Europe Award - Migration Studies” Grant is for American students who wish to conduct study or research on how these five countries are facing issues related to immigration and integration in Europe. The duration is 10 to 12 months and requires that students spend at least two months in each country participating to the project.

The “Fulbright-Schuman 70th Anniversary Migration Research Award” Grant is for scholars, researchers and lecturers who study migration through a comparative and multidisciplinary approach. The grant winner will be able to spend a maximum of eight months in Europe and will carry out research in at least 3 of the 5 countries.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Programme provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or for English Teaching Assistant Programs.  The programme facilitates cultural exchange through direct interaction on an individual basis in the classroom, field, home, and in routine tasks, allowing the grantee to gain an appreciation of others’ viewpoints and beliefs, the way they do things, and the way they think.
