On Saturday, April 7, Sapienza University will host a Concert for Horn and Percussions with Alessio Allegrini and the Tetraktis Percussion Ensemble.

The musicians will perform a sonata by Cherubini, dedicated to the beauty and historic virtuosity of the solo horn, and a Brazilian Suite based on famous South American melodies arranged by David Short. Moreover, the concert will include the performance of compositions by two contemporary composers: Ramberto Ciammarughi’s “Elegie” and “OUT” by Riccardo Panfili, a synthesis of modern sounds and languages forging pop art, experimentation, rock and many other musical genres.

The Tetraktis Percussion Ensemble will also perform the “Trio per Uno” for bass drum and three percussionists by Serbian composer Nebojša Jovan Živkovic and John Cage’s “Third Construction,” s study on the infinite polyrhythms of the Central African tradition.
