On Wednesday, February 7, Sergio Pernigotti, Professor Emeritus at the University of Bologna, will hold a lecture entitled “From Akhenaton’s Reform to Horemheb’s Coup.”

During the lecture, Professor Pernigotti will use a wide range of sources to provide a new interpretation of one of the most famous and controversial events in the history of Ancient Egypt, the end of the ideological-religious experience introduced by Akhenaton, the so-called “heretic pharaoh,” and the rebirth of the Cult of Amon and its priestly order.
